havnt been on here for awhile. Still getting emails from parents about my scoliosis story Amazing Brace (MacLeans Magazine). And finally a study was carried out proving that bracing does work for scoliosis. The old 'wait and watch' so called 'treatment' is hogwash, so if you child has a curve, find a brace and try conservative methods. Won't work for everyone, unfortunately, but 40% and more can be kept out of surgery. For mature spines in adults, Spinecor, can solve postural problems caused by the asymmetry thus lessening or eliminating pain. Worked for my son when he was 22 years. he has no pain and hasn't worn the brace for years. All about working the muscles. Good luck all!Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-22686950219345496842014-03-29T17:37:00.003-05:002023-07-03T07:38:01.506-05:00Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-42774059325850097752013-10-13T12:37:00.001-05:002013-10-13T12:37:16.863-05:00Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-29917628042563601232012-06-01T15:34:00.001-05:002012-06-01T15:34:08.886-05:00

It was so nostalgic being there after all this time. I cried! The grads were gorgeous. Principal Theresa MacKenzie is quite a mover and shaker, and I had a lot of fun with former principal, Sr. Agnes Cordeau, who showed me around the convent. I've been promoting Mother's Day for months now. After 25 years raising kids, I'm so good at it. Jay just called from California with a pre mother's day greeting, and to make sure that his gift arrived, it's in front of me now. I think it's an ipod, but I don't tell him I know. Poor Luke lives here with me in Toronto, so he's really in trouble. Tomorrow he takes me to brunch, and then I get to call the whole day. "You'll probably make me search for scholarships online", he complained. He's right, I will, that is already on my list.

Two years ago, on May 10th, my own Mom died, so this Mother's Day will be the second anniversary of her death. I still miss her so much. Lots to think about on Mother's Day.. will never get past losing Mom.

Have a good one - I loved having my mother, and I love being a mother. Lots to celebrate today.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-21771977725984293002009-04-30T08:07:00.004-05:002009-04-30T08:16:22.624-05:00Award Nomination'Amazing Brace' from Macleans Magazine, has been nominated for a National Magazine Award in the category of health and science. I'm so happy about that! I still receive letters daily from people looking for help for scoliosis, and I've received fantastic response from those who have been fitted with the brace. Adults are getting great pain relief, and I've heard from parents of children who are getting major curve correction. This brace is definitely keeping people, young and old, out of dangerous spinal fusion surgery. Amazing Brace is certainly the most rewarding story I"ve ever written. So many people are bein helped. Check out my scoliosis blog, I'm just getting it underway... there's a demand, sufferers are definitely desperate and need info...Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-1824935203362816302009-04-14T17:10:00.005-05:002009-05-02T08:18:14.220-05:00<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9iSepecT53hvXsyf74co8RxT59bo_97-jyNZXdbw8fgdZ_FgDXnXWGDC1yvT5HYoET-a1FRKEMx4yO8yWdxUGDtqWjuX-wVNsks1Mf4_A_PisXrbLSmLt4SB1ZaZStJP7IhyVhoQzCmM3/s200/macleans.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5169579065932783138" />SCOLIOSIS Amazing Brace, is now online at macleans.ca ,Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-18289687557235171712007-05-18T07:29:00.006-05:002009-05-02T07:32:00.198-05:00How cute are my Dad and Mom - gone but not forgotten<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: undefinedpx; height: undefinedpx;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgY8wpp6l-BtNvhpo29B9reRfeKSV2n5QQgpGgC_fBOLc_E-W4396Z3lV3Ys2qKn0aPaR5Mk_I_kTPf7sfO__boGQrK-8YmsM0CzrU-a0NzroPUyaM4YeZXdLXl1yrM6bhcX3OYFKSKQTty/s200/001_1-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321205116903325042" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: undefinedpx; height: undefinedpx;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbu8UgL4GXdn5ZsmIQFVwMBG1a-e2VLBZg3EfVGJ05paLEf4gun-96Tem7mSYB5Fgx6AxKJ-_pK9qegXbPf9rvOb70WiI14J90QxCtX4MMPt6fSyWZQd9SoWsWuzc7VvHueFZxKVccv_IJ/s200/b+1x+5x7+croped.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321204865830686594" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-64651923484786916462007-04-14T07:55:00.003-05:002010-06-27T07:13:36.241-05:00Satisfaction! People were stunned. "How could you leave such a fantastic job", they asked me? I really didn't have an answer, except to say that, like so many other mothers in the animal kingdom, I just couldn't leave my baby. At the time, that seemed such a lame excuse, really, since most of my human colleagues, also moms, had no trouble slipping out to work every day. None of us needed the money, although all of us wanted the money, plus the many other perks that came with our fabulous jobs.

I promised myself that I would go back to my career the next year. But the next year turned into another year, and eventually another year turned into another son, and I never did go back to work.

"When you get older, you'll never say, 'I wish I spent less time with the kids", my wise mother had advised me when I struggled with my decision. Boy, was she right. Looking at the decade old picture above, I can see now that I really followed my heart back then. I had actually left nothing behind by leaving my job after all. The picture says it all doesn't it? Talk about the cat that swallowed the canary!Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-30512050997236952502007-02-01T11:53:00.002-05:002008-03-09T08:56:26.821-05:00Brilliant Bill<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhc8utnfqwsH3E4MUaqEUJv1YnmFPwnKoEer77HxiFuTsUv_hKmbMnhMT1chbwQJDUMuGzDSIUDu7Nt0_PcXXncC-8Wb723WgrpblvDEVf9OvT8Xd_P8KLP_tRVMiyO_F3xb0zu8860f0EV/s200/Bill+Clinton+and+me.jpg" border="5" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5027014141897271170" />I met Bill Clinton at an event in Toronto a few years ago where he gave such an inspiring speech, he had all the guests in the palm of his hand. Most charismatic guy I've met, with Pierre Trudeau coming in a close second. I sat at Clinton's table for dinner that night, and he talked passionately about the environment, and terrorism. No small talk for him, absolutely brilliant, and very well behaved, I might add.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-86209990388966153952007-01-30T20:43:00.005-05:002008-03-09T08:58:31.676-05:00Me and The Donald. His or mine! Dug up an old picture of me and the Donald. It’s so old that the Donald was still with Ivana when this photo was taken. I remember thinking he was very charming at the time.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1521784210337030992.post-16400923697185842522007-01-30T14:23:00.000-05:002007-02-09T13:43:22.572-05:00I'm here<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4qaAT2z6_lpcIfgmYfEjWHrHEnohoZETtkcoF4pHFKa6lhHLgNRdNYmJizmpk9a9XQwG2VB8xhPIg2nKIBsuXF21UZsLKyF8X2eNtjTmahTMWu8DijHcjT6sFSPuckefbacJEgcbiRIDb/s200/hond661.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5026024920734689106" />Finally, I figured out how to do a blog, with a little help, okay, a lot of help. Thanks Milton. On this site you will see a link to Sleeping Children, a wonderful charity started by The Dryden Family of Ontario (Ken Dryden's parents). 100% of the donation money goes directly to needy kids, that's what really got my attention.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com
